Can’t catch your breath or constantly feel winded? If this symptom is persistent and/or increasing, it could indicate a blood clot in the lung or a PE (pulmonary embolism). This is particularly true if you have, or have had a blood clot in your arm or leg, DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis).
Shortness of breath could also indicate “Coronary Thrombosis”, a blood clot in your heart which is very serious. There are also less serious indications such as asthma or even altitude sickness.
If you are experiencing this symptom and you are taking hormone-based contraceptives, are pregnant, or have recently given birth, you should see a qualified doctor and report this symptom. Both Coronary Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism are curable if caught early.
If you experience swelling, redness, or your skin is warm to the touch on your leg or arm - this could indicate a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) - a blood clot in a deep vein in your leg or arm.
This symptom could be dangerous because the clot could move up through your body to your lungs or to other organs. Be aware, a DVT can occur from an injury to your leg or arm. It could also occur if you have reduced circulation from sitting or lying still for too long, such as on a long plane flight or from required bed rest.
If you experience a persistent and/or increasing headache (often on the left side) over several days or weeks – sometimes accompanied by vision problems and/or dizziness – this could indicate a CVT (Cerebral Venous Thrombosis) blood clot in the brain.
This symptom is often confused with migraine headache which can also be problematic during pregnancy – but, CVT is not a migraine! It must be diagnosed by a specialist! Be aware that CVT is usually curable, but if you are pregnant, it requires careful monitoring and special anticoagulation medication.

All pregnant women should learn how to keep track of how much their baby is moving during the third trimester. During this part of pregnancy, the baby will become more active, particularly during certain parts of the day. If you are keeping track and discover that your baby is moving less, this could be an indication of a developing problem that you must quickly bring to the attention of your doctor.

Chest pain, heaviness, irregular heartbeat, fainting, extreme anxiety, exhaustion, a sense of impending doom, or the inability to lie flat may indicate a blood clot in the lungs (PE) or heart (Coronary Thrombosis). These require immediate medical attention as they can be life-threatening. If these symptoms persist or worsen, visit the ER or call 911.
